BASELOCK™ — Start At The Base.
DUE FOR RELEASE: JUNE 2026
Every rackless system is only as good as its foundation. If the base isn't sitting perfectly against your bike, nothing above it will either. BASELOCK™ fixes that — right at the source.
The Foundation Problem
The Nomad Moto rackless base is designed to fit a huge range of bikes. That's the point — universal compatibility, no rack required. But every bike has its own subframe geometry, its own bodywork angles, its own contact points. No single base plate can be machined to sit perfectly flush against every one of them straight out of the box.
The result is a gap. Sometimes barely perceptible. But at speed, across thousands of kilometres, that gap matters. It allows micro-movement. It transfers vibration up through the base and into your system. And it concentrates load onto small contact points instead of spreading it evenly across your bodywork.
Fix the base and you fix everything above it.
The Foundation Problem
BASELOCK™ is a foam and rigid poly board insert that sticks directly onto your Nomad Moto rackless base. Peel. Stick. Done.
The foam exterior conforms to your bike's bodywork as the base is mounted, filling the gap between base and bike and creating a firm, even contact surface. The poly board core gives it structure — it doesn't compress flat under load, it holds its form and keeps the base locked exactly where you set it.
The whole system tightens up instantly. The base stops moving. The vibration transfer drops. And your bodywork is protected from the kind of concentrated pressure that leaves its mark after a long trip.

Why It Matters On The Road
Vibration is the enemy of rackless luggage. Not because it's dramatic — it's not. It's gradual. It's the constant low-level movement that works at your system over time, loosening contact points, wearing at surfaces, and slowly undermining the tight fit you set up at the start of the trip.
A base that's perfectly seated against the bike has no room to move. The foam layer absorbs vibration rather than transmitting it. The poly board core keeps the geometry locked. Your bags sit exactly where they should, ride after ride, kilometre after kilometre.
180 grams at the base. A tighter, quieter, better-protected system everywhere else.
Easier On Your Plastics
When a base plate contacts bodywork at a single point or a narrow edge, all the load concentrates there. Over time that leaves marks — pressure scuffs, stress lines, surface damage that's hard to reverse and easy to avoid.
BASELOCK™ spreads that load across the full contact surface of the base. The foam distributes pressure evenly, acts as a protective buffer, and eliminates the hard edge-to-plastic contact that causes most of the damage. Your bike stays cleaner. Your base stays tighter. Both last longer.
The Philosophy Behind It
We don't add to the Nomad Moto lineup unless something genuinely needs solving. BASELOCK™ came directly from rider feedback — across a wide range of bikes, riders were telling us the system performed great but wanted that last bit of locked-in feel that comes from a perfectly seated base.
We couldn't machine a different base for every bike on the market. But we could engineer a 180 gram fix that works across all of them. So we did.
