Will the Adjustable Rackless Base Fit My Bike?

  • Africa Twin CRF1100L — keeping the grab handles? This base, plus a luggage plate. Running without handles? Go the Standard Rackless Base — still needs a luggage plate. Want it locked in even tighter? Add a BASELOCK pad on top for a dead-flush, no-movement fit — the luggage plate is still required either way.

The Adjustable Rackless Base is built for wide-seat ADV machines. The mechanism extends to bridge your full seat width and pull hard against the bike. No float. No sway. No movement.

Nomad Moto rackless bases are designed to fit the vast majority of ADV and dual-sport motorcycles.

The only decision is Standard vs Adjustable — and that comes down to seat width.


Quick Fit Guide (60 Seconds)

Choose the Adjustable Rackless Base if:

  • Rear seat width is 300mm+

  • Front of rear seat is 200mm+

  • Your bike has a wide, flat seat or grab handles

  • Common on big ADV bikes (GSA, 901, KLR650 Gen 3)

  • Your seat tapers toward the rear

  • Rear seat is under 300mm

Why We Use TPU, Not PVC

Every Nomad Moto bag is built from 1000D thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) — the toughest, lightest waterproof material we could put on a bike. Most soft luggage uses PVC. We don't. Here's why it matters.

Zero Water Absorption

TPU doesn't soak. Ride through a river crossing, roll into camp — your bag weighs the same wet as it did dry. PVC swells and holds water. TPU shrugs it off.

Won't Rot, Won't Crack

Resistant to abrasion, UV, and wear. Built to take corrugations, sand, and long miles without breaking down.

Lighter, Stronger

More tear-strength per gram than PVC. You carry less weight for the same tough build.

Recyclable & Low-Tox
