Honda Africa Twin Adventure Touring Luggage: The Strzelecki 80L Setup

The Africa Twin was made for the long haul. Big tank, big range, built to keep going long after the bitumen runs out. So when you're loading it for weeks on the road — moto-camping, remote crossings, proper expeditions — your luggage needs to carry serious kit without turning your bike into a top-heavy pig.

That's the Strzelecki 80L. Our flagship system, built for the biggest trips — and it still runs rackless.

WHEN 50 LITRES ISN'T ENOUGH

The Stockman 50L is the sweet spot for most Africa Twin riders. But when you're going long and self-supported, you need room for the lot — tent, sleeping kit, tools, spares, food, water.

The problem with big luggage on a big bike is usually the same: it gets heavy, it gets bulky, and it starts moving around the moment the surface turns loose. The Strzelecki is built to carry 80L of gear and still stay locked in.

80 LITRES. STILL NO SWAY.

The Strzelecki 80L is a full expedition system built from 1000D TPU — the same bomb-proof, 100% waterproof material across the whole Nomad Moto range. TPU doesn't soak up water, doesn't get heavy in the wet, and doesn't care about mud, dust or a trailside get-off.

Loaded for a fortnight or packed light for an overnighter, it sits tight against the bike. No sway. No flap. No fighting the load through the rough stuff.

THE 80L SETUP: BASELOCK + LUGGAGE PLATES

Straight up — with 80L of gear on board, weight matters. Pack the panniers full and that load wants to push the bags in against the bike. The fix isn't a heavy pannier rack. It's a set of luggage plates.

Luggage plates are lightweight side supports that give your panniers a flat, rigid backing to sit against. They're not a bulky steel frame — they're cheap, simple, and you can grab a set online. Run the Strzelecki on BASELOCK with luggage plates and the whole system sits rock solid, fully loaded, through the rough.

Prefer to bolt straight to a pannier rack instead? The same bags do that too. One system, your call — but for a big Africa Twin touring load, BASELOCK plus luggage plates is the sweet spot: rock-solid stability without the weight of a full rack.

WHAT YOU GET

  •   80L of matched, modular expedition capacity
  •   1000D TPU construction — 100% waterproof, zero water absorption
  •   Runs on BASELOCK + lightweight luggage plates, or mounts to a pannier rack
  •   Locked-in fit that holds a full load through the rough
  •   Modular — mix and match with the rest of the Nomad Moto system
  •   2-year warranty + 2-year crash damage warranty

BUILT FOR THE BIG TRIPS

This is the system for the rides that matter. The Simpson. The Cape. Cross-continent runs and back-of-beyond crossings where your gear has to work every single day and getting it wrong isn't an option.

The Strzelecki was born out of exactly that — luggage that failed in the field, straps that snapped, water that got in where it shouldn't. Everything about it is a fix for that. Tough as nails. Zero water absorption. Pure ADV, no compromise.

WHY SOFT + RACKLESS WINS ON A BIG TRIP

  •   It survives the drops. Fully loaded on a remote trail, soft luggage takes the hit and keeps going — no bent cases, no busted mounts a thousand km from anywhere.
  •   Weight where it belongs. Lighter mounting and tighter fit keep the load stable and the bike planted.
  •   Waterproof, no excuses. River crossings, downpours, dawn dew — TPU keeps your kit dry with no separate liners.
  •   Field-serviceable simplicity. No fragile hardware to fail in the middle of nowhere.

FITS YOUR AFRICA TWIN

The Strzelecki 80L is built to fit the Honda Africa Twin range — mounted on BASELOCK with luggage plates, or on a pannier rack. Check the fitment guide on the product page for your exact year and model, or message the crew at crew@nomad-moto.com before you order and we'll make sure you get the right setup.

AFRICA TWIN TOURING LUGGAGE FAQ

Is 80L too much for the Africa Twin?
Not for expedition and multi-week rides. If you're mostly doing weekends and day trips, the Stockman 50L is likely your sweet spot.

Do I need a pannier rack for the Strzelecki on my Africa Twin?
No heavy rack needed — but with a full 80L load, we recommend a set of luggage plates. They're lightweight side supports (not a bulky rack), they're easy to grab online, and they keep the system sitting rock solid under a big load. BASELOCK does the mounting; the plates do the stabilising. Prefer a rack? The same bags bolt straight to one.

Is it really 100% waterproof?
Yes. 1000D TPU doesn't absorb water, so your gear stays dry with no separate dry bags to manage.

Will it fit my Adventure Sports?
The system covers the Africa Twin range. Confirm your exact variant against the fitment guide or ask the crew before buying.

LOAD UP AND RIDE FURTHER

When the trip is big, the gear can't be the weak link. The Strzelecki 80L carries the lot — on BASELOCK with luggage plates, or on a rack — 100% waterproof, locked in tight.

Not going that big? The Stockman 50L Africa Twin setup is the go for most riders.
