WISH YOU WERE HERE BUT GLAD YOU’RE NOT
“Craig Laughed, I Launched – Thanks, Mountain Goat”
Some rides go smoothly.
Others involve a mountain goat, a helmet cam, a rock the size of a bowling ball, and a front-row seat to your own crash.
I was riding with my mate Craig, cruising along a trail, when out of nowhere a mountain goat bolted across the track. Naturally, I reached up to flick the helmet cam on—because if it’s not on camera, did it even happen?
Turns out it did. Just not the way I planned.
In that split second, I hit a rock, dropped into a rut, and the bike sent me flying. Full ragdoll mode. Craig, of course, found it hilarious. Not a hint of concern—just laughter echoing through the hills.
But here’s the thing—no injuries. I was completely fine. And that’s largely thanks to the gear. The Strzelecki Soft Panniers broke the fall and held strong. No rips, no busted straps, no drama. That crash could’ve ended the day, but instead we were back riding in minutes, with a new story to tell.
So yeah… cheers to mountain goats, mates who film instead of help, and gear that actually works when it matters most.
Wish you were here... but glad you’re not.
