Do Nomad Moto Rackless Systems Fit BMW GS Models?
Short answer: Yes. And better than you'd think.
BMW GS riders ask us this constantly. Makes sense — GS models are the most popular adventure bikes on the planet, and you're particular about your setup. Here's exactly how our rackless systems fit across the GS lineup.
Standard GS Models — Bolt On and Ride
If you're on a standard GS with the stock seat — we're talking the F700GS, F800GS, F850GS, R1200GS, R1250GS in standard trim — our systems fit straight out of the box.
No rack. No hardware. No modifications.
The Strzelecki and Stockman strap directly to the subframe, lock down tight, and sit flush against the bike. No sway. No bounce. No bulk hanging off the sides like you've strapped a pair of suitcases to your machine.
This is rackless done right. Fits the bike. Rides the bike.
1150 to 1300 GS Models — Adjustable Fit
Older GS? We've got you covered.
The R1150GS, R1200GS (and variants through to the 1300) can have slightly varying frame geometry depending on the year and spec. Our systems include adjustable strapping that dials in the fit across this range.
Snug. Stable. Sorted.
If you've been told rackless won't work on your older GS — that's old information. Our system was built to be universal across bikes. That includes the big boxers.
Got an Adventure Seat or Taller Aftermarket Seat?
This is the one variable that changes the equation.
If you're running a taller or wider adventure seat — think BMW's own Adventure seat, or aftermarket options from Seat Concepts, Sargent, or similar — the geometry between the seat and subframe shifts. In some cases, this affects how the system sits and whether it contacts the seat correctly.
It doesn't mean it won't fit. It means we want to check it with you first.
Hit us up at Nomad Moto before you order. Tell us your model, year, and what seat you're running. We'll give you a straight answer — no runaround, no generic "should be fine." We ride this stuff. We know the bikes.
Why Rackless on a GS?
You bought a GS because it goes everywhere. Why bolt a rack onto it and turn it into a truck?
Racks add weight, change the centre of gravity, rattle on corrugated dirt roads, and make the bike feel like a different machine off-road. Once you go rackless, you don't go back.
Our Strzelecki system gives you up to 80L of waterproof storage — TPU construction, not PVC — sitting tight against the bike with zero sway. The Stockman runs 25L or 50L panniers that stay locked in even on the rough stuff.
Built for bikes like yours. Built to ride.
Still Not Sure?
Ask us directly. We're not a call centre. We're riders.
